Kris comes to resistance stretching from an eclectic athletic background. She has taught/coached skiing for over 30 years and currently coaches and trains ski instructors in the Primary Movements Teaching System (PMTS) and the American Teaching System (she has been an instructor examiner for the Professional Ski Instructors of America). For the past 20 years she has trained and raced triathlons as a way to remain active when the snow melts. In addition she has dabbled in horseback riding, windsurfing, water skiing, rollerblading, softball, tennis, and most anything else that gets her outside and moving. During her years in sport she has explored yoga, physical therapy, Feldenkrais work, and most recently resistance stretching to maintain and improve her body as she trains. She has a strong medical background and training (she is a board certified veterinary anesthesiologist and has a PhD in physiology). In her spare time she continues to explore and learn both Western and Eastern medicine modalities to further expand her repertoire.
She has been very fortunate to train with and learn from Tom Longo, Bob Cooley, and Doran Christie. Tom and Doran continue to mentor her in resistance stretching. Kris’ philosophy and approach in coaching is to find out what motivates people and develop individualized coaching, instruction, and stretching plans around what will most readily meet their goals and motivations. Her intent when coaching and stretching people is to find and focus on the most important movement changes that will meet each individuals needs. Kris enjoys working one-on-one with clients or in groups to give them the tools they need to further their goals.
